Environment Options

Environment Options allow you to customize general Database Designer for MySQL options. To open the Environment Options dialog select the Tools | Environment Options menu item.

The Environment Options dialog consist of several tabs, each of which is described in details below

Preferences

In this tab you can tune the standard behavior of the application on the startup and some new object creation.

Show splash screen

This option enables showing Database Designer for MySQL welcome screen at the application startup.

Check file association at startup

This option enables checking that the diagram files are associated with Database Designer for MySQL at the program startup.

Show tips dialog

This option enables showing Tips Of the Day dialog with useful recommendations on the application startup.

Check printers count during startup

Enables reading of printer's parameters at the application startup. The checking could make the startup slower.

Enable undo

This option enables undo and redo functions of application.

Undo limit

This option sets limit of undo steps. The more limit, the more memory is needed. The default value is 99.

Save backup files (.bak)

This option enables creation of backup files for the diagram.

Confirmations

This tab allows to enable or disable confirmations that pop up before some operations.

Show "Create new diagram" dialog on reverse engineering

This option enables dialog that suggests you to create a new diagram before Reverse Engineering and Import.

Show reference warning

This option enables dialog that shows warning then a new reference created for at least one non-InnoDB table.

Show warning before database modification

This option enables dialog, that shows warning before Database Modification.

Show warning before deattaching a domain

This option enables dialog, that shows warning before modification of a domain-based table column.

Fonts

In this tab you can change the diagram and application fonts.

Diagram Font

You can select font that is used in a diagram. The option changes the font on all diagram objects (tables, references, etc) captions.

Application Font

You can select font that will be used in the application. The option changes the font of dialogs, menus, and other objects.

Diagram

In this tab you can change the quantity of pages that will be used in the new diagrams.

Horizontal Page Count

Horizontal size of the diagram, in pages.

Vertical Page Count

Vertical size of the diagram, in pages.
