Loading Sample Database

DBACentral for MySQL installation package includes a specially designed MySQL database and its profile. Using this profile you can examine most of the main DBACentral features, such as using stored queries, forms, relationships, and more.

 

To start working with the test database, you should load the test database on your server. Please be sure that your server does not contain database named Euro2004 before loading. To load the database, click the Euro2004 Sample Database item at the Getting Started pane, or select this item from the Help main menu.

 

The host connection appears, which looks in the following way:

 

 

You should define the following connection parameters:

  • Host - the host name or the IP-address of your MySQL server;
  • Port - the connection port of your MySQL server (usually 3306);
  • User/Password - the combination of your MySQL user name and password;

 

The Timeout property is optional.

 

After you have defined all properties click Connect to start loading the test database. It may take some time. Please wait until the progress bar, shown on the picture below, indicates the end of the process.

 

 

After the database is loaded, the sample profile, specially designed for this databases, opens.

 

The Main Profile Window for the sample profile looks in the following way:

 

 

The sample database contains information about the UEFA European Championship: teams, players, matches, etc. The above picture shows the list of sample database tables with their descriptions.

 

The sample profile also contains queries, forms, and relationships for working with the database.
