Environment Options

The Options dialog allows you to customize your work in DBACentral for MySQL. To open the dialog, select the Tools | Options... menu item.

 

 

The following options are available on General tab:

  • Show Splash on Startup - specifies whether to display the splash screen, containing license and version info, at program startup;
  • Show Tips at Startup - specifies whether to display the Tip of the Day dialog at program startup;
  • Always Show Task Pane at Startup - specifies whether the Task Pane should appear at program startup irrespectively of its state in the previous session;
  • Relationship Model Width - the real width of the model design area in Relationships Designer and Query Designer.
  • Relationship Model Height - the real height of the model design area in Relationships Designer and Query Designer.
  • Confirm Record Deletions - specifies if record deletions in table grids and forms require confirmation;
  • Confirm Table Deletions - specifies if table deletions in Profile Window require confirmation;
  • Confirm Relation Deletions - specifies if deleting a relationship in the Relationships Designer require confirmation;
  • Confirm Apply Designer Changes - specifies if switching the Table Designer, Query Designer, or Form Designer to data mode should requires confirmation for applying last design changes;
  • Confirm Application Exit - specifies whether exiting from DBACentral for MySQL requires confirmation.

 

The Fonts tab allows you to specify the common font for DBACentral and the font to use in the SQL Executor, Query SQL View, and other SQL editors.

 

 

The Tables/Queries tab provides options for customizing data grid.

The following options are available on the General page:

  • Use Limit/Limit to - these options define the default grid limit value in the Table Data Grid View;
  • Max Default Column Width/Min Default Column Width - these options allow you to define the bounds of the default column widths in data grids;
  • Binary ENUMs as Check Boxes - with this option on ENUM fields with two possible values are displayed as check boxes in data grids; click the Boolean Values... button to specify the lists of permissible FALSE and TRUE values.

 

The Grid Style page allows you to specify the style sheet for the grid, displaying query data in the Data Grid View or SQL Executor window.

 

The SQL Editors tab allows you to perform full customization of the editor area in the SQL view of Table Designer and Query Designer or SQL Executor window.

 

 

The following options are available on the General page:

  • Auto Indent - positions the cursor under the first non-blank character of the preceding non-blank line when you press Enter;
  • Smart Tabs - tabs to the first non-whitespace character in the preceding line;
  • Show Special Chars - displays paragraph and dot symbols, which indicate the line breaks and spaces in the text;
  • Group Undo - undoes your last editing command as well as any subsequent editing commands of the same type, if you press Alt+Backspace or choose Edit | Undo;
  • Undo After Save - allows you to retrieve changes after a save;
  • Find Text At Cursor - places the text at the cursor into the Text To Find list box in the Find Text dialog box when you choose Search | Find;
  • Cursor Beyond EOL - positions the cursor beyond the end-of-line character;
  • Cursor Beyond EOF - positions the cursor beyond the end-of-file character;
  • Trim Trailing Spaces - truncates trailing blanks; 
  • Undo Limit - specify the number of keystrokes that can be undone;
  • Tab Stops - set tabs that the cursor will move to when you press Tab;
  • Enable Code Completion - when you enter a table name followed by a period in the editor, the list of its columns is displayed;
  • Delay - set the duration of the pause before a Code Insight dialog box is displayed.

 

Use the Highlight page of the SQL Editor Options to specify how the different elements of your code appear in the editor. You can specify foreground and background colors for anything listed in the Element list box. The sample SQL Editor shows how your settings will appear in the editor.

 

The Web Pages page is intended for customization of your work with DBACentral Web Pages.

 

 

The Server Mappings are used when you open a web page in the internal web-browser (Page Data View) for replacing the specified directory in the page address to the specified host name. It allows you to pass the web page through your web server before displaying them in the browser and therefore process the php code of the page correctly.

 

Click the Add button to add a mapping to the list, click the Edit or Delete buttons to edit or delete the selected mappings respectively. To change the order of the mappings use up and down buttons at the right.
