Database Management

DBACentral for MySQL provides all the necessary tools for managing MySQL databases. You can create databases in several ways, backup, restore and drop databases easily.

 

In DBACentral for MySQL you can either create a new blank database, or create a new database from one of available sources: MS Access, ADO compatible database, or MySQL database.

 

To create a blank database, select the Tools | Create Database item from the main menu and follow the steps of the New Database Wizard.

 

To import an existing database to your MySQL server select one of the File | Import Database subitems and follow the steps of the Import Database Wizard.

 

To backup a database, using MySQL file format (*.myd and *.frm) or using SQL, select the File | Administration Tools | Backup Database main menu item. The Backup Database Wizard will guide you through the process of creating the reserve copy of your copy.

 

To restore a database from the backup directory or SQL script, select the File | Administration Tools | Restore Database main menu item and use the Restore Database Wizard for restoring into the new or into the existing database.

 

To drop the existing database, open the database profile, then select the Tools | Drop Database item from the main menu and confirm dropping in the dialog window.
